Uber,Ola, violate the government notification on rates: Magic Sewa




With a taxi company based radio inaction by the authorities to implement rules regarding the rates charged in taxis, Delhi High Court today asked a status report of city government.

Justice JR Midha while seeking a status report of the Delhi government, said prima facie of the view that it was a public interest litigation (PIL) and therefore had to be presented before the bank corresponding.

Magic Sewa Pvt Ltd has alleged in his statement that some aggregators unlicensed taxis as Uber and Ola "have been contemptuously violated" the government notification on rates by charging very low amounts like Rs five per km or so high as Rs 38 per km.

"They also charge the so-called" peak load time "or" The price rise 'above normal rates on a day and time of your choice. This "peak load time" or "The price increase 'could be up to five times the normal rate published by aggregators unlicensed taxis.

"These illegal practices aggregators unlicensed taxis are negatively affecting the livelihoods of petitioner no. 1 (magic Sewa) and their survival is at stake," the petition, filed through advocate Pranav Sachdeva said.

It has been alleged that the taxi companies based on the application, as Ola and Uber were not complying with City Taxi Scheme 2015 or the reported rates under the Motor Vehicle Act with.

"In deciding the rates of taxis operating on their networks, aggregators illegal taxis that for all practical purposes, usurped state powers," he said.

He also said "neither the provisions of the law can be manipulated, and passengers can be deceived in the name of competition. The attraction of a prospective passenger with a published rate as low as Rs five per km, but the load passenger as high as Rs 38 per km in the name of "peak load time" or "surge prices' is downright misleading, malicious and deceit.
