Twitter names former chief technology officer of Facebook to its board

Twitter said it had appointed former Facebook CTO Bret Taylor of its board, effective immediately. Taylor is currently the executive director of Quip start.

Taylor became the chief technology officer of Facebook after it acquired FriendFeed, the social network he co-founded in 2007. Before that, he was a product manager at home alphabet Inc Google, where he co-created maps of Google and started group of Google developer products.

It was only recently that highlighted reports Twitter has hired a UI designer who used to work for Apple. Alessandro Sabatelli joined Twitter as the Director of AR and VR. Sabatelli was the CEO of a company he founded called Ixomoxi, which created an Augmented Reality application for music festivals - called Lucy - aimed at millennials. Lucy Sabatelli application that adds real-time filter seems to point to similar features from periscope.

A focus on AR and VR is the latest in a series of measures aimed at revitalizing the social network measure. How exactly fit VR and AR is unknown, and open to speculation.
