Google announces Android skilling program in India, to train 2 million developers




Google has launched its latest program in India - Android Skilling program - which aims to train about two million Android developers from scratch and educate and certify them. Android Developer training will be available for free through universities in India.

Google has announced a training program led by an instructor on Android Basics will be available at public and private universities and training institutes of the ability of the National Development Corporation of India. The Android Fundamentals course will be available for free on NPTEL which is an initiative of the IITs and IISc from July 18 onwards as part of their mobile computing course.

In addition to offering courses, Google has also been associated with training institutes such as Edureka, Koenig, Manipal Global, Simplilearn, Udacity and Upgrad Android that will function as Authorized Training Partners in India.

Apart from this, Google has also announced its certification program Android Developer Associate oriented work, which is a performance-based test that aims to help successful developers get entry level jobs for Android developers in the industry. Tests is priced at Rs 6,500 per attempt.
