Apple iCloud will be partially powered by the cloud platform Google: Report

Apple iCloud will soon be partially powered by the Google Cloud Platform, according to sources familiar with the deal
.
According to a report by the CRN, citing sources familiar with the matter, Apple Google will pay between $ 400 million and $ 600 million for the deal. Currently, the Apple cloud business is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

This does not mean that Apple has completely abandoned AWS, but still a client. "It's a bit of a puzzle for us, because sellers who understand that doing business with companies respect [nondisclosure agreements] with their customers and do not involve competitive desertion which does not exist," said a spokesman for AWS.

If the news report is accurate, this could be a win for Google! However, for Apple deal could portend a measure to cut costs ahead of creating your own storage system in the cloud, Re / Code said.
Apple currently spends about $ 1 billion a year in AWS, but it is speculated to reduce that figure moving more computing for their own data centers. From now on, Apple is spending $ 3.9 billion to build new data centers in Arizona, Ireland and Denmark, the first of which is set to open later this year.
