Google Doodle celebrates Holi with colored logo splashed


Google doodle today is celebrating the Indian festival of color - Holi, with what looks like colored powder used in the royal festivities. As the play button is pressed on the doodle, the logo is animated with a touch of color.

"Today, people all over the world is going to pelt each other with colored powder in celebration of Holi, the centennial party now celebrated worldwide. Holi coincides with the beginning of spring, and many is an opportunity to enjoy bright festive, colorful new season. Our Doodle honors this tradition, and all those who celebrate this day of joy, "says Google's blog.

Google has released a GIF animation scrawl on their homepages in India, Canada, Sweden, Latvia, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia. The same doodle also was posted on the home page of Google Nepal on March 22 to celebrate the festival of Holika, says the report.

The report adds that, unlike last year, no Holi doodle on the home page of Google UK - a country with a significant population of Indian origin. Google UK is celebrating British design, arts and today 182nd birth anniversary of aesthetic prodigy William Morris.
