Microsoft Windows 10 mobile refresh for Lumia 535, 635, 735, 830, 930 and Lumia 1520 to land next week

Windows Phone owners have been waiting patiently for Microsoft to offer its latest version of Windows for its smartphones called Windows 10 mobile. Although Microsoft has not officially given out a timeline, it seems that the time is that Windows fans finally get the update long coming that rightfully deserve.

The news about the next wave of changes to legacy devices comes from two sources. The first confirmation comes from an Italian website that claims that Vodafone Italy has details on the deployment on its website also record the list of devices that meet the requirements.

According to Vodafone only Lumia 535, 635, 735, 830, 930 and Lumia 1520 meet updating Windows Mobile 10, which is scheduled to begin deploying next week as an OTA. Interestingly, the Lumia 640 and XL 640 missing and this is strange, since Microsoft had promised that these would be the first to receive the big update.

The second and most recent bit of news comes from Evan Blass informant who also writes for VentureBeat. Blass mentions that in an email to partners, Microsoft mentions that the update would arrive in March after monthly service updates arrive in the Lumia 950 and XL 950.

He also mentioned that the deployment would begin passively, and "users will have to manually start from their mobile phones." Publication of the first phase, Microsoft begin a roll out through an OTA eligible devices.

In short, it is expected that the deployment to happen in the next few weeks, but there is no way to confirm anything at the moment although both sources appear to be linked via e-mail that was sent to members. Hopefully Microsoft puts out a post giving its users an update on it.
