Google engineer says HTC and LG G5 With 10 not compliant USB Type-C specification
Google engineer Benson Leung said that high-end smartphones like HTC and LG 10 G5 are at risk because these devices are Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 certified, which invariably makes them nonconforming USB-C.
Leung said.. "This is the first cable-DC that I have reviewed, and it is one that makes a lot of different functions Excuse the length of this review I tested with 3 different chargers, one of them actually a spring external display with a 4K display. the cable allows the pixel 2 for load itself, while the video display 4K60hz and access to the USB hub on the monitor over a single cable. Woot! "
It is believed that the USB Type-C was tested with the non-proprietary load 5 V and found safe to use. However, the increase could end up damaging volt device. A drawback of using fast charge USB Type-C is that users are not able to use a data connection at the same time.
In the past, Leung had also stated that the OnePlus Type-C adapter may damage the devices because of potential failure. In a Google+ post, he says there is no need to buy the adapter type C Onelus cheap Chromebook Pixel USB, as well as Nexus and Nexus 6P 5X because it uses the wrong identifier resistance. He further claims that OnePlus accessories do not meet specifications.
"Having a weaker charger 3A is actually a risk factor because the device being charged will always try to charge 3A and if the older adapter can not handle 3A, ie when it could be damaged," Leung writes in response to a comment.
