handbags that can display emojis was created by an Indian students

A fashion design student from India, University of Birmingham City has created an inspired emoji-LED bag, she hopes to get people talking.

Emoji are emoticons and ideograms used in electronic messages and webpages.

From Nashik, Maharashtra, Madhura Kulkarni said he wanted to "create something original and not imagined."

"The concept behind the bag is to start a verbal conversation between two people with the help of LED Emojis you can choose to display in the bag," Kulkarni, who is studying fashion design at the School of Fashion and Textiles, said in a declaration.

"For example, if two people are you showing the same emoji in your bag, you could start a conversation between them," he added.

She also blamed the media for the growing lack of real human interaction face to face.

"In the 21st century, where people are very tech-savvy, some people are so absorbed in social media that rarely talk to others verbally. I feel my concept could revolutionize the world," Kulkarni said.

His work is part of Inspired Festival of Birmingham City University, a two-week celebration of creative talent and graduate students to launch their careers.

Kulkarni design has already attracted international attention because it was recently named as a finalist in the 2016 Design Awards in New York independent bag.
